In MARS project an innovative mechatronic device based on piezoelectric actuators is proposed to control and mitigate vibrations in manufacturing equipment (Machine Tools) sector. AViA (Active Vibration Absorber), is a flexible, modular, plug-and-play device able to suppress forced vibration generated by the machining process. |

Modularity. Concept design is completely scalable to address different machine size. Readiness-to-use (RTU). AViA is a plug-and-play device, ready to be integrated (both HW and SW), with minimal customisation. Compactness. Optimised design that minimises the size in order to occupy the minimum space (seamless integration). |

Cost-effectiveness. Reduction of machining time and operative cost by 15% as a consequence of no need of further downstream finishing processes (e.g. grinding). Workpiece quality. Great improvement in terms of surface roughness. Sustainability. Reduction of scraps (non-conformed parts). |
